It is with great pleasure that we invite you to the Step2Foundation fundraising dinner!
Since 2012 the Step2Foundation has improved the quality of life for children in Cambodia by providing them with access to an education and clean water. Your donations made that possible.
Step2Foundation has a simple objective for 2018 – to accelerate the pace of positive change for impoverished children in Cambodia.
Your attendance on October 19 will make education, clean water, and sanitation a reality for children who have so little. You can accelerate the pace of change by supporting targeted projects that create pathways out of poverty for the people of Siem Reap.
Put together a table of friends who want to make genuine change in the world and join us to share a meal as we raise funds for projects that truly changes lives. Last year’s fundraiser was a huge success.
In the words of Svaychey Village School’s teacher Sok, ‘Every child deserves a right to live and learn’. We couldn’t agree more.
Speakers & Entertainment
Gavin brought his unique take on life to the role of MC at our inaugural fundraiser in 2017. Now a passionate supporter of Step2Foundation’s work, Gavin is excited to be part of the evening again in 2018. His commitment to helping people access financial advice supports and become financially literate aligns perfectly with the Step2Foundation’s goal to improve the lives of ordinary Cambodians. Gavin balances a busy schedule as the Director & Founder of Your Wealth Hub with travelling, surfing, playing guitar and time in the garden.
We would like to thank the following generous supporters:
More about Step2Foundation
When Zeynep Roberts first travelled to Cambodia with the Cambodian Children’s Trust (CCT) in March 2012, it was the first step on her journey to founding the Step2Foundation. During her trip, she was assisted by Soviet Ty, a local tour guide who invited Zeynep to visit his village’s small school.
The school building in Svaychey, a small village on the edge of Siem Reap, was in poor repair. There were no books, pencils or pens available for students, desks were damaged and there was little fresh water, the school had no electricity. Zeynep immediately provided pencils and writing materials, and she returned to Sydney committed to helping the village further.
Five years on, Zeynep has built the Step2 Foundation around that commitment, with four financial board members and registered charity status. The village has a school with eight classrooms, toilets and a library; four students have gone on to further education so that they can return to the school as assistant teachers; the school has electricity and a self-sustaining, clean water supply. Life continues to improve for everyone in Svaychey!
Consultation and collaboration with the local community is central to every project undertaken by Step2Foundation, which is a lifelong commitment for Zeynep and her fellow directors. They set out with an open heart and hard work to create a reality where the value of education changes lives.
