We fund education projects for disadvantaged children in Cambodia
At Step2Foundation we believe that every child deserves the right to live and learn. It is our goal to ensure that those who need it most can attend school and grow up in a resilient community.
Since 2012 we have worked with communities in Siem Reap to provide educational opportunities. It is our goal to ensure that those who need it most can attend school and grow up in a resilient community.
After repairing the run-down school buildings in Svaychey village, in 2012 we built seven new classrooms, a library, and a toilet block. Today the school has furniture, computers, software, English books, and essential school supplies. The number of students attending school has increased from about 85 to 250 since the school opened in 2013.
Local teachers receive ongoing mentoring and development. Creating a clear pathway to employment after education has been integral to gaining community support.
Children in Svaychey and the surrounding villages have seen lives transformed by the Svaychey Village School. Their parents now see education as a viable option and a pathway out of poverty.
In communities where food is scarce, sourcing food is a barrier to attending school. Hunger stops children from learning when they do attend. Step2Foundation partnered with the World Food Programme to provide breakfast to 250 children every day.
Knowing that their children will receive a nutritious meal each day merely by attending school is a huge relief for parents in impoverished communities.
Step2Foundation is a grassroots charity. We work closely with communities in Siem Reap to ensure your donations go to the people who need it most.
